The extensive documentary produced by Al JAzeera dives into the sea of the Gaza Strip to tell the story of Madleen and her family.
By the time of the documentary, 2017, Madleen had long led the family’s economy, her parents and her siblings, sailing the boat every day to fish. But the difficulties are many in the face of the suffocating situation of the Zionist siege all around the Strip.
Madleen takes us fishing with her, then we’ll see her prepare the meal of the one she just caught at sea to eat with her family. Madleen shows us the incalculable damage done by the occupation to the equipment, people, and economy of Gaza’s coast. We listen to her harsh accounts of Madleen but also her dreams and hopes for a better future without occupation.
